FORM_FACOTR

You can use the FORM_FACTOR to determine the device type, however while experimenting this seems to work only in mobile app and not a mobile browser.

To use this module you need to import it like below.

import FORM_FACTOR from '@salesforce/client/formFactor'

The FORM_FACTOR can have below values based on the type of the device.

• Large - If the device is a desktop.
• Medium - If the device is a tablet.
• Small - A phone client

navigator.userAgent 

This seems to work both with mobile apps and the mobile browser. Add the below method to your LWC JS file

 Found this article on the Salesforce Knowledge base. However, this method does not work and not sure if the article is even accurate. The last part of the article asks to perform a Update on the 'EmailRelation' object but without a Id field mapped, so i believe the article needs to be checked for accuracy.

The steps below are the ones that worked for me and happy to share it here. Before looking at the steps, some points to note about uploading Email Messages via the data loader.

• The Email Message object has a Status field. This is set to '5' (Draft) by default. The record is only update-able as long as it is in Draft status.
• Uploading to this object will not send out an actual email.
  
• If the uploading CSV file has a single error, all records fail in the operation. I experienced this for the EmailMessage object and the EmailRelation object. One of the records in the relation object pointed to a merged contact and my entire file failed with the same error for all rows. On removing that particular record, the file uploaded successfully.

STEP 1:

 Salesforce Classic: Notes & Attachments

Uploading Notes into the traditional Notes object is pretty straightforward. Notes uploaded using this method are available in the 'Notes & Attachments' related list. Remember, these notes are classic and they lack all the advanced features of Enhanced Notes. If you are uploading notes for the first time, it is best to use enhanced Notes.

•  Prepare a CSV file with the columns ( Body : Text, ParentId: Related Record Id, Title: Text)
  
• Use Workbench / Apex Data Loader
• Object: Note
• Map the three columns accordingly and insert. 

Note that Body can only contain text and not rich text / HTML. If you have rich text, use advanced notes. Else, convert rich text to normal text using this tool and then insert

Salesforce Lightning: Enhanced Notes

There are two ways to uploading enhanced notes. 

Follow this method if you have individual files (.txt) for each note. https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=000339316&type=1&mode=1

Follow the method below if you only have a CSV file with the note content in rich text (HTML) or plain text format. This method does NOT work with Apex Data Loader. Use workbench or use dataloader.io.

Uploading Notes:

• Prepare CSV file with the columns ( Content: Rich Text / HTML / Plain text,
  Title: Text)
• Use Workbench
• Object: ContentNote 

Linking Notes to Records:

• Prepare CSV file with the columns ( ContentDocumentId: ID obtained after uploading notes above, LinkedEntityId: ID of the record to link to)
• Use Workbench
• Object: ContentDocumentLink 

 

 This post explains how to import external Javascript and CSS files into a custom lighting component. The first section deals with Aura Component, whereas the later sections explains the same for a LWC component.

STEP 1:

Download the CSS and JS files. Upload them as a static resource. For this example, let's pick bootstrap. Get bootstrap v4.5 from https://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.5/getting-started/download/ and click the first download button.

Upload the ZIP file as a Static Resource with name 'bootstrap'.

In the meanwhile, let's look at the structure of the zip file on your local machine. This would come in handy when referring the files in your component.

Download Jquery from https://jquery.com/download/ and upload the file as a Static resource with name 'jquery'

STEP 2:

Aura Component

Refer the CSS files and JS files in the Aura Component.

LWC Component

Refer the CSS and JS files in LWC Component.
